Welcome Legal Professionals
The North Carolina Law-Related Education (LRE) Advisory Committee of the NC Bar Association is dedicated to serving the public by strengthening and building a fairer, freer, more open society. The LREAC is not only promoting the understanding and respect for the rule of law through interactive law-related and civic education programs for students, teachers and the citizenry of North Carolina, it is helping build in our children and citizens the skills needed for the 21st century.
The LREAC develops and makes presentations at teacher institutes and workshops, such as Justice Teaching Institute (JTI), Attorneys Partnering for Progress in Legal Education (APPLE), Business and Construction Law workshops, as well as mock trial training for teachers and students. In addition to programs for teachers, LRE attorney volunteers, attend career days, speak to classrooms, and allow students to shadow them for a day.
The LRE Department at the Bar Association also houses national programs, such as We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution (WTP), Representative Democracy in America (RDA) and Project Citizen (PC), all of which provide both teachers and students with experiential learning activities that culminate in local, state and national events.
