Justice Iredell Middle School Mock Trial Tournament

New Image.JPG

The Justice Iredell Middle School Mock Trial Tournament is co-chaired by Lucy Austin and Karissa Davan and is hosted at a county courthouse in the participating schools surrounding area.  The tournament is for North Carolina middle school teachers to instruct in their classroom to help increase their student's skills with critical thinking, problem-solving, language arts, public speaking and more.

What student would not like to see themselves as a defender of the "innocent" or the prosecutor of the "guilty"? Although television and movie courtroom scenes distort real courtroom procedures, the drama of the courtroom is real. People's lives are on the line; their families, livelihood, and even their bank accountsare in the hands of the judge and jury.

The 2012 Justice Iredell Middle School Mock Trial Tournament is scheduled for December 7th.  Details will be posted and broadcast to educators in the summer.

The 2011 Justice Iredell Middle School Mock Trial Tournament was held on December 9th at five courthouses across the state where fourteen teams participated representing eleven schools.
