Justice Teaching Institute (JTI)

Location: NC Bar Center, Cary
Date(s): October 16, 2007

My experience last week at the Justice Teaching Institute was invaluable!  Not only am I refreshed in body, but also in intellect.  It was wonderful!  I am looking forward to some reflective time this week-end during which I am going to plan to group some "spooky" stories that we'll be reading for Halloween.  Then we're going to have trials for the accused.    In the process, we'll be studying about the different types of charges that can be brought when someone is killed.  (I get a classroom set of the N&O every day, so I'll have plenty of real-life examples.)  I may also include some "assault" cases, depending on which short stories I choose to work with.  I'm sure I'm going to want a guest speaker.  When I have my plan, I'll be able to make a specific request.  As you can see, I got "fed" in many ways, and I'm still digesting the experience--more later.

Thank you so much for letting me be apart of this most esteemed institute.

Thanks so much to all who were involved in giving us JTI. I have already recommended this to other law and civics teachers for whenever the next time comes around.

Again, thanks so much.
